The Reducing Tee is for inserting a smaller branch pipe -d1 into a larger main line -d and has a shoulder  for location of correct insertion depth. L is the overall length and L1 is the dimension from the centre line of the main line to the face of the branch adaptor, while Z1 is from that same centre line to the face of the inserted branch pipe. Z is the insertion depth of the main pipe into the fitting.
