The EPDM flat Gaskets are fitted as standard to barrel unions. EPDM is a type of synthetic rubber suitable for a broad range of applications, but not oils or fuel. It is good for potable water and steam applications and has fair chemical resistace. Due to the deformation forces involved when tightening the union, it is recommended that the seals are replaced each time the joint is disassembled
